The best websites for Panama real estate...

Ok, so you're interested in checking out properties - where to start? Inevitably the search will begin on the web - let's google "panama real estate" and see what happens. The first few pages are all real estate companies, mostly run by expats. Many of these companies have significant property databases, but its tedious having to go through each and every agency, also many will have the same properties listed, as sellers rarely give their properties exclusively to one broker.

Here is my list of the best websites for researching properties in Panama and getting an idea of what's out there.

#1 Encuentra24

Encuentra 24 is without a doubt the largest classifieds Ad website in Panama. In English and Spanish and easy enough to filter your search by region,type, price etc. New properties are added constantly so keep an eye on the date published. The first listings are those that have paid extra for promotion, so keep scrolling to get the latest ones. Notice many realtors list on this website as well as owners. Listing a property on encuentra24 however is NOT free of charge - and many owners will try and list elsewhere for free first ;). The site itself is easy to navigate, but has lots of ads which is annoying especially on the mobile site. Encuentra24 is also popular for cars.

#2 Facebook marketplace

Facebook market place is becoming increasingly popular for real estate and vehicles - mainly because it's free to list. In facebook most listings are for sale by owner. If you have a facebook account you can direct message the listing, however many ads show a contact number- downside here is that you should speak Spanish as you are often dealing with owners directly. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/panamacity/propertyforsale

#3 Compreoalquile

Compreoalquile is just for property sales and rentals, they have a cool function where you can search within a marked area on the map. Not free to list, but still several thousand properties in their database. Downside is that the page is only in Spanish - but most of the time the information is easy to understand and translate.

#4 Panama Realtor

Panama Realtor is easy to navigate and has a large database of listings nationwide, having merged with Keller Williams - you will see all KW agents and their listings on this site. This site also has an informative blog and lots of information.

#5 Craigslist

Good ol' Craigslist - seems to be a long time favourite of expats - free to list and worth a look. Has a fair amount of rentals and properties for sale, the listings expire after 45 days so the list is pretty up to date. Lots of for sale or rent by owner listings here.
